It’s time for another round of my wonderful blog circle. This month’s theme is Out and About. I do like to take my camera when I’m out with my kids, but this month I was lucky enough to spend a week in London, and for that week I took my camera everywhere. Of my many photos from the trip, I’ve decided to share a few from my adventures in the city as my kids and I visited all of the wonderful places we’d planned, and some we hadn’t.
We had an apartment in the Kensington area, very close to the incredible Holland Park. In addition to beautiful gardens, the park has an adventure playground that my kids really loved. We visited the park on five different occasions during our stay. The zip line and “skateboard” (not sure what else to call it) were their favorites.
We spent a fair amount of time on double-decker buses going to and from our apartment to the High Street Kensington underground station. No need to pay for a special bus tour! The kids always wanted to sit on the upper level.
Here’s a photo of my daughter on the London Eye. My son and I were looking out the windows and taking lots of pictures, but she was reading Harry Potter! Once she saw all she wanted to see, she preferred to sink back into that magical world. I think that says a lot about her, for better or worse!
On our last day, just before we had to head to Heathrow, we visited Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park. The kids’ favorite part was the Princess Diana fountain, which is a circular path where water flows down from the highest point. It was a beautiful day so lots of kids were playing in the water, and mine had to join in.
Sorry for the overshare but it was such an amazing week I just couldn’t pare it down! Thanks so much for stopping by, and be sure to visit Sarah Chase who is next on the blog circle!
